Purchasing, Collection and Delivery

How can I purchase a vehicle?

Select a vehicle from our listings page and contact our sales team. They will send you a pro forma invoice. Upon payment of at least 20%, the vehicle will be reserved for you. Full payment and collection must take place within two weeks. Delivery within the Netherlands is possible by arrangement.

How can I reserve a vehicle?

A reservation is confirmed once you have received a pro forma invoice from Boonstra and paid at least 20%. Reserving a vehicle at Boonstra means you are purchasing it.

Can private individuals also buy vehicles?

Yes, under trade terms and without warranty. You must inspect and assess the vehicle yourself.

Can I view a vehicle before purchasing?

Yes, during opening hours. Please call ahead to confirm availability. Without a deposit, we cannot guarantee the vehicle will not be sold to someone else.

Can you deliver vehicles?

You can collect your vehicle yourself or arrange delivery within the Netherlands. The transport risk transfers to the buyer upon delivery.

Is assistance available for loading?

Two staff members will assist you, if possible with a forklift, depending on how busy we are. For loading with a crane, you must make your own arrangements.

Can I cancel a purchase?

Cancellation is possible, but no refund will be issued for payments already made.

Which countries does Boonstra not supply to?

Due to sanctions legislation, Boonstra cannot do business with Belarus and Russia.

Selling

Can I sell my vehicle?

You can sell your vehicle to Boonstra via our sales form. You will receive an offer within three working days. If an insurance company is involved, wait for their settlement first.

You have purchased my vehicle, what happens next?

The Planning department will contact you regarding payment and collection. Have both parts of the registration code and the vehicle registration card ready. Payment will be made to you or your insurer, depending on the coverage. Boonstra aims to collect the vehicle within 10 working days. Any questions? Email planning@boonstraschadevoertuigen.nl.

Payment

How can I pay at Boonstra?

You can only pay by bank transfer. Card payments are also accepted; cash payments are not permitted.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, the first instalment must be at least 20% of the invoice amount. The remaining balance must be paid within two weeks, along with collection. We reserve the right to charge storage costs if you fail to comply.

When will I receive my deposit back?

VAT deposit outside EU: refunded once you have sent us the Confirmation Of Exit. VAT deposit within EU: refunded once we receive the fully completed CMR/transport declaration with a recognisable photo of the vehicle in your country. BPM deposit: refunded once we receive the decision from the Tax Authority, provided you send us the permanent registration from your country within 10 weeks of export.

Warranty and Conditions

Does Boonstra offer a warranty on vehicles or used cars?

Boonstra does not provide any warranty, goodwill or refunds after sale. All vehicles are offered and sold as-is and can be viewed and assessed beforehand.

Tax, BPM and VAT

Do all cars have valid documentation?

Yes, we have all the necessary documents. Any special conditions will be stated at the time of sale.

Margin vehicles and VAT vehicles

For a margin vehicle, no VAT is charged on the invoice; for a VAT vehicle, it is. We always specify the type in the advertisement.

Import and Export

Export and BPM

BPM on a Dutch vehicle can be reclaimed when exporting within the EU. You pay this as a deposit and will receive it back, provided you submit a permanent registration from your own country within 10 weeks of export.

Exporting my purchase

Boonstra handles the administrative process, suspends the vehicle in your name and provides the necessary documents. For export outside the EU, we prepare customs documents and can supply export licence plates, provided the vehicle is roadworthy and has a valid MOT.

About Our Vehicles

Is the origin of vehicles known and can I request this information?

Due to privacy legislation, we cannot disclose the origin. You can often find information online using the licence plate or chassis number.

Can I have repairs carried out at Boonstra?

No, Boonstra does not carry out repairs on request.

What do the different vehicle statuses mean?

A damaged vehicle has damage to the bodywork, frame, engine or other parts. A used vehicle is either undamaged when purchased or a repaired damaged vehicle. The same terms apply to both.

Regulations and Registration

Is a re-inspection always required for damaged vehicles?

No, only if the RDW has issued a 'ban on road use'. Check this at ovi.rdw.nl.

Does Boonstra handle vehicle registration?

Yes, Boonstra can arrange the registration or provide you with all the documents needed to register the vehicle in your own country.
